Bali island impressions01.12.2007

Picture of the day

Today I dont want to talk about global warming and solar car stuff.

After doing all the paperwork, and while Thomas is still stuck in Kalkutta trying to export our support vehicle, and just before the conference starts, we (erik and me) decided to make a little trip to see Bali. The beauty of this world, that's what we are talking about. Saving it, protecting it, that's what we want to do. Bali is just an example of one of the world's most beautiful places.

We visited the Mt. Batur and Lake Batur, a volcano (1700 m ASL) with a magnificent lake. After that, we went back to the coast and had a look at the holy temple of Goa Lawah, with its famous bat cave. I estimate that around 50'000 fruit bats live here, together with some python snakes. According to a legend, also the dragon like snake called Basuki should live here. Then we had a look at Eastern Bali's dominating famous Mt. Gunung Agung. I prefer not talking too much about it. Just have a look at the pictures!
